Re: Next Game
All guns on the Buffaloes are .50 Calibre M2’s. The note applies specifically to 21 Squadron RAAF and this is 453 Squadron RAAF. I am also not completely convinced on when this was nor that it was done on a squadron wide basis, but I do need to re-read some of the books I have.

Corrected Scenario file
I just put a corrected scenario file up v1.1a and deleted the old one. The
correction was to add "On turn 1 the Ki.43-Is have just spotted the Buffalos and must move first." To the Special Rules. This was part of the older rules for this scenario and was unintentionally omitted when I updated the scenario. Rob R.

New Game - Radio Groups and Start Date
I have added and removed members from the Radio sub-groups so that each
group should have the correct players. Please check to make sure you are in the correct Radio sub-group. Buffaloes in Allied and Ki.43's in Axis. Let me know if something isn't right or if you have a question. Other than that feel free to start discussing strategy. My plan is to kick off the game on Wednesday. Rob R.

Next Game
You can find the scenario information, ADC's, and maps in the Files section
under the "Defend Ipoh 2" folder. Like the last game I would like to try and run this at a 24hr turnaround for moves. It also still training game even though I am testing a gunnery rule with the Japanese side. Below is the lineup for the game: Buffalo #1: Hank Burkhalter Buffalo #2: Scott "Ripcord" Abbott Buffalo #3: David "Spinner" Bywater Ki.43 #1: Miquel Miralbes Ki.43 #2: Matt "Tragic" Johnson Ki.43 #3: Mike "Bing" Kroona I couple of items for this game. First, because the fight will take place in the VL band we do not need to worry about the possible Buffalo power issues. Second, all Ki.43 guns will be set at the normal N1(Ho-103) & N2(Type 89). I will move players in and out of the sub-groups to get everyone into the correct radio group for this game. Once I have done this I'll let you know so you can check to see if you are in the correct radio group If you have any questions, please ask. Rob R.

Sounds great! Thanks Rob for putting together another game.

Next Game
Just a quick update. We have everyone back plus Dave "Spinner" Bywater for
this next game. I'll will hopefully get everything uploaded and everyone assigned to the correct radio sub groups over the next couple of days. Rob R.

Thanks for the advice, Rob! That makes a lot of sense. I think I tried to turn tightly on the horizontal and forgot about the vertical. I will keep that in mind for this coming game!

Re: AAR & Combat Summary
Miquel, I don’t think you could have continued to tail Reggiane #3 on turn 6 nor would you have had a good shot opportunity. Reggiane #1 would likely have had a better shot at your Spitfire than it did.
You needed to go defensive, but the move that you made gave an easy shot to Reggiane #1 (I think he could have had an even better shot if he had used his VFP first and claimed tracking). When you are in this type of position you first look at what can you do to prevent your attacker from getting into shot parameters and if that is not possible or just puts you in danger from another fighter, then look at how to make the odds and modifiers as bad as possible for the attacker. In this situation I would have looked at doing a BT(3) to IVD and looking to position my fighter to make hard for Reggiane #1 to get me into Vertical Shot parameters without using a NG push or being a couple attitude pitches out of sync with the VD attitude (not sure which would have worked out). Also always look at what you can do to increase the LVMM modifier the attacker has to deal with.

Great AAR! The fluid multi-turn diagrams are really interesting, and the writing ties it all up together very nicely. I also always want to keep track of what shots I've taken and how my rolls have gone but keep forgetting to, so it was nice to see that data. Thank you for running and refereeing the game, Rob. I had lots of fun. Having to keep track of three airplanes was an interesting challenge. I think at some point I might have literally said "I'll be fine provided I don't get tailed" just as I slipped right in front of an enemy. I was also very pleasantly surprised with the SpitMk5's --- not just the raw firepower, but that critical rating of two can really do some harm! Bing, Ripcord, Tragic --- thank you for the great game and the tough opposition. You had me drafting and redrafting turns to squeeze that last change of facing or shave that last decel point off.
